Since its inception in 2002, the Homeless Museum has, at turns, been an activist's initiative, an exhibit in a vacant artist studio, a live-in museum in a rental apartment in Brooklyn, a lemonade stand embedded in a commercial art fair, a make-believe identity, and a collection of original artworks. Noterdaeme is also a freelance lecturer at the Guggenheim Museum and an adjunct professor of art history and cultural studies at New York University and the New School.

Dawn Marie Knopf grew up in Yosemite National Park, CA where her daddy drove trucks and her mama tended bar. While studying at University of California, Davis under Gary Snyder, she was recognized in the Ina Coolbrith and Pamela Maus competitions and is now pursuing her M.F.A. at Columbia University. She recently completed her first novel and is working on a collection of poetry.

P.E.E.L. We decided at the last minute to make it an alfresco reading in the back garden, due to the really nice weather. At one point, a neighbor leaned her head out the window and listened for a while. Stain's mascot, Poe, leaped in the grass as the reading took place.

Of course, thanks also go to our readers, pictured below.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wblPmoxY4_A/Rq61VNrNQ1I/AAAAAAAAAFg/QK74N-8q0JQ/s400/DavidSewell_1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093207604655375186" />
David Sewell (and Poe)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wblPmoxY4_A/Rq62x9rNQ2I/AAAAAAAAAFo/BC5QzJD-64E/s400/PorterFox.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093209198088242018" />
Porter Fox

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wblPmoxY4_A/Rq6649rNQ5I/AAAAAAAAAGA/J_2pa6j2oJY/s400/DebOlinUnferth_2.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093213716393837458" />
Deb Olin Unferth

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wblPmoxY4_A/Rq68ptrNQ6I/AAAAAAAAAGI/C-uVdl1Ehfs/s400/Tao_Lin.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5093215653424087970" />
Tao Lin

P.E.E.L.
